Dating in the dark launches 20 july on abc
‘Dating in the Dark' received a series pickup from US network ABC for the production of this new dating show. ABC picked up the back five episodes bringing the order to six including the pilot. The Show will be launched on ABC 20 July at 10 p.m.
Dating in the Dark is an experiment that answers the question if you can fall in love with someone you get to know in depth but have never seen. The show is a voyage for people on the look for true love.
John de Mol, the man behind international blockbuster formats like ‘Big Brother' and ‘Deal or no Deal' and developer of ‘Dating in the Dark', states: "I'm in business for many years now, but it's always special for a European producer to strike a deal with an American network. Besides this, Talpa not only sold the format to ABC, but will also produce the show in cooperation with David Goldberg's Endemol USA."
Meanwhile in the Netherlands Dating in the Dark is doing very well on RTL 5. It is the number 1 show on RTL 5 in its key target group of 20 -34. Since MIPTV last April, Dating in the Dark has been sold in 15 countries of which 5 are ready to go into production.
