Celebrities on Welfare

A celebrity family is about to lose their life of luxury and surrender all their possessions, becoming: Celebrities on Welfare. They have agreed to take on the challenge as a platform for charity, to draw more attention to those people who really live on welfare... all the time. When the going gets tough... Do the celebs get going?

On Celebrities on Welfare, 1 celebrity family takes on the challenge of surviving on a set welfare budget for 1 whole month... A sharp contrast to their usual life of luxury consisting of personal car parks, secluded mansions and all imaginable comforts.
But now the family has to say goodbye to that life... and therefore they must also hand over their mobiles, car keys, fancy clothes... oh yes and those gold cards! And don't forget to say goodbye to the household staff on the way out!

Straight after that the celebs drive off to their new life in their rickety old "new" car and move into a tiny house in a downmarket neighbourhood. Beforehand they are given a small fixed budget to set up their new home with. From beds to cutlery and from the sofa to the curtains... everything must be bought from the budget! Forcing them to fall back on countless garage sales, eBay and charity shops, in the hope of finding affordable stuff.

In these new surroundings life goes on, and so does the day job. The only difference being that the celebs don't get the fat pay-packet they normally receive. And how about having to get used to sharing just 1 - pre-paid - phone... with the whole family or 1 tiny old car, when there are 2 jobs to go to. Quite a challenge... not to mention a relationship test!

Life is made even more complicated by assignments. For instance when they have to throw a housewarming for the new neighbours or when it's 1 of their kids' birthdays, and they have to organise a party...
How do they deal with these hurdles? They'll have to get creative! Because paying their way to a solution isn't an option... so they better use all the inventiveness and help that they can get together!
