Guesstimation

Guesstimation is a fast, fun and immensely play-along family game show, in which the contestants don't need to know the answers - they just have to use their good judgement and knowledge to make an informed guess!
The show is a combination of fascinating experiments, astonishing and entertaining facts and a bit of a challenge for the candidates and audience in the studio and the viewers at home too!

On Guesstimation everything revolves around the ‘guesstimation' powers of two families - consisting of four family members each.
During three rounds and a final the teams go head to head in the hope of winning a fantastic prize. Throughout the game the families have to guess the answers to a series of unusual questions and the results of studio-based challenges carried out by special guests.
For each question the team captains nominate two of their family members to play. The family with the closest guess wins the question and earns an all-important extra family member to guess in the challenge at the end of the round.
For each round a family wins, the team captain gets to take one extra family member into the FINAL - where only one of the teams will play - increasing their chance of winning that fantastic prize up for grabs

So... The recent Lord of the Rings film trilogy made almost US $3 billion at the box office. 26,000 extras were used during the filming but, how many pairs of rubber ears and feet were used for the Tolkien characters...?
